One-word Wednesday: Orange

***

Want more orange? A couple of my garden blogging friends have asked to join in the One-word Wednesday meme. See their "orange" posts here:

If you've got a gardening or photography blog and are interested in participating in the next One-word Wednesday, please contact me!

Note: One-word Wednesday is my response to "Wordless Wednesday", which is typically a post containing a single image. One-word Wednesday still has the advantage of not needing you to write anything, but with a theme and multiple images it's a bit more interesting for the author and the reader -- don't you agree?

  3. So vibrant! Love this time of year and these images. I just stumbled on your blog yesterday, where is your garden? I am in central/eastern Oklahoma, zone 7. I have a neighbor wishing to rid herself of some invasive bamboo and I am so tempted... Since we live on about 9+ acres I feel safe doing it. Wondering if this is a good time of year for transplanting?
I blogged today on a new herb garden we're working on. Enjoying your info!

  4. Green Goose: My "about me" page says I garden in suburban St. Louis. ;-)

Although you're a zone warmer than me, it might be too late to transplant the bamboo. Might be better to wait until early spring, maybe March. Although since it sounds like you have an "unlimited" supply, you could dig a division now and see how it does. Then dig in March if it doesn't survive.

  5. Love the "Orange" photos Alan! The bald cypress is a stunner. Thanks for inviting me to join, it was a fun excercise.

  6. Our cypress are just beginning to change...I hope to get out there with my camera and catch a few shots of them before their glorious color fades...

  7. I pulled out a bittersweet growing amidst some hydrangeas today with the typical orange root of an invasive - does that count towards Orange day?

  8. Orange against the blue sky is so beautiful, amazing details of your photos too. I like your One Word for Wednesday, but I am a regular contributor to Word for Wednesday meme of Garden Walk Garden Talk. Have you seen it yet? It is very challenging too, eliciting deeper contemplation! thank you.
