Spirits of my garden

The other day I showed you the gigantic beet root I have in my garden right now. Although opinions varied, the consensus is that I should not try to eat is as it will probably be very woody. I'm not certain that I should even remove it from the bed, let alone eat it, as after careful observation I've found...

...it seems to contain the images of the spirits of my garden.

When I was putting the original post together, I noticed what seemed to be faces in the patterns on the huge and probably woody root:

The first appears to be a mystical creature of some sort, possibly straight out of My Neighbor Totoro (which should be immediately rented or added to your Netflix queue if you've never seen it). This spirit must represent the unknown in my garden, the magic of Nature.

Next up is what seems to be the face of a clown with a big smile looking down toward the right:

This must represent the playful and humorous side of my garden, or perhaps is a symbol of the happiness that I find out here. (Surely it's not the folly of trying to maintain a garden of this size?)

Next is what looks like the face of a tiger man, gazing in the same direction as the clown:

This must represent the strong, aggressive aspect of my garden. I like big, aggressive plants (like bamboo), and am pretty ferocious when attacking the rhizomes to keep it in check.

So why are both of these "spirits" looking down to the right?

It turns out that there is something going on there:

Another spirit, which appears to be a rabbit attempting to climb onto (or stop from falling off) a branch. Cute! This must represent the creatures of the garden: rabbits, deer, raccoons, shrews, mice, moles and the rest. Maybe this means that they're comfortable enough here in the environment I've created to enjoy themselves a bit?

Finally, there was another creature up above:

An owl, flying in to land on a branch. Maybe coming to watch the bunny's antics? This could represent the birds that visit my garden: the cardinals, sparrows, finches, jays, robins, waxwings, even the hawks and owls that sometimes appear.

Or maybe it represents the wisdom of the gardener who created this little paradise...

Yes, I'm going with that one.

I wonder if there are other spirit images I've missed here?
