This is why

This is why I love growing bamboo -- or at least one of the many reasons...

In a climate that is typically deciduous, brown, and grey at this time of year, I've got plenty of green to enjoy.

It's a fantastic boost to my spirits to be able to stand under these leafy culms and fill my eyes with shimmering green and sky blue, even if it is only 25ºF (-4ºC) out here.

A beautiful backdrop for the pond

It probably doesn't need saying, but I'm starting to get excited about bamboo shooting season which for this variety should be mid-April. (This year though, who knows when it will start.)

Until then I have all of this to enjoy, and I'm quite happy about that.

Hey it looks like a warm summer day! (except for the picture with the frozen pond)

That's it, I am now DETERMINED to find bamboo that will grow in my yard in Utah, with all out crazy weather, to be able to enjoy! Thanks...
