Looking at bamboo

Very few words again today.

Just another look at the springtime bamboo in my garden.

***

Shoots are so exciting and beautiful:

as is the fresh, clean foliage:

and the new culms, vibrant and tender, picking up accents of red and purple from sun exposure:

Although most of those red tones will soon fade and the electric green will mellow and yellow with age, I certainly do enjoy them right now.

I hope you do too.

  1. Mr Bambooman, your collection of bamboos are really beautiful and interesting. Do you also have the vegetable shoot producing bamboo?

  4. Cool. How big in diameter is the atrovaginata?

I'm expecting my bamboos to emerge approximately 4-5 weeks after yours.
