It's the 15th of the month, which means it's time for GBBD again! That's Garden Bloggers Bloom Day if you're not good with acronyms. Carol at May Dreams Gardens started this meme a while ago, and every month we get to see what's blooming in so many gardens because of if!
Here's a sampling of what's flowering in my garden right now.
I even took the time to label them this month!
|
'Zagreb' Coreopsis |
|
Spirea 'Neon Flame' |
|
Unknown poppy, spared by the deer, needs more sun! |
|
Pink evening primrose, Oenothera speciosa |
|
Missouri evening primrose, Oenothera missouriensis |
|
Poppy petal so crumply! |
|
Squash blossoms know a thing or two about crumpling too. |
|
Culinary sage, with an American Lady butterfly |
|
'Lady in Red' Hydrangea |
|
Verbena bonariensis |
I actually have more blooms, but they're all in the veggie garden so I'm saving those for another post.
Remember to head over to
May Dreams Gardens to see what other gardens have blooming right now!

Lovely poppies, Alan. I have grown the California ones (Eschscholzia) but haven't tried the true poppies. Somehow, they intimidate me...
Such gorgeous photos! I have "unnamed poppies" in my yard, too. I thought I planted red ones, but I have purple poppies blooming.
That's gardening!
It's all beautiful. I love the butterfly shot!
Happy bloom day. Nice to see all your pretty bloomers and butterflies visiting your garden.
I actually think that Spirea is 'Neon Flash', not 'Neon Flame'. I have another Spirea that is 'Goldflame' (I think) and combined the two names. Sorry about that. I should probably correct it or Google will be sending the wrong people here.
Oh what a lovely spirea, which, for some reason, don't do as well here in upstate NY as they used to do for me when I lived in Kansas. Your butterfly photo was fantastic. I've still trying to learn how to take wildlife/insect pictures.
The photograph with the butterfly is stunning! You have lovely blooms!!
All beauties but I'm partial to your neon flame.
