What's the best thing that a plant lover can see when looking out of a hotel window in a big city?
Greenery! At least it is for me. I recently saw two examples of this.
The first is in Cambridge Massachusetts and is a green roof:
Not well-established, and getting a bit weedy:
I applaud the attempt though. This is found on the edge of MIT, and there are a couple of parks on this block, so the green roof isn't the only swatch of green around.
It's welcome though, especially with all of the air conditioners up here:
I love the copper (I assume) walls of this building:
The second example of hotel window greenery spotting was in NYC:
A rooftop garden, perfectly placed in view of my 18th-story window.
I don't think the foliage plant merchant uses this space since it's in the next building, but that was my first thought.
I saw glimpses of other roofs with potted plants on them too, but nothing as full as this one.
I'm always glad when I see greenery when looking up toward building tops...
...and also glad to be able to look down upon them sometimes.
.
I agree, a sight for sore eyes! In places like NYC a rooftop garden is probably the only option for die-hard gardeners.
Those are cool. Truly dedicated gardeners always find space somewhere.
