Updates

I thought I'd give you an update on a few things that I've been posting about lately. First, the super-crowded Mexican petunia that I divided and repotted:

I tackled this at just the right time!  I never really doubted there would be problems, but I didn't expect new growth to already reach the edge of the pot!

Even the tiny piece that I broke off while dividing is growing, planted in a plastic cup:

What an easy plant to propagate!


Moving on to the next update... remember the cactus that developed the black spot? Here's your reminder:

Well, I was assured by commenters that this would just result in a hole in the stem, but the plant would be fine.

I think I'll agree with that assessment now.

The hole is not quite big enough for a cactus wren I think. Not that we have cactus wrens around here. Maybe the wrens we do have will nest there, as they seem to pick some weird places for nesting.


Finally, I just had to show you the pond:

I've got a lot of the planting of tropicals done around it, and added more water plants. I'll post details about those soon, but for now, doesn't it look great?
