One thing you can't deny about our recent snow and dangerously cold weather: it makes for some beautiful mornings!
The cold, gusty winds kept the almost 12" (30cm) of snow blowing and drifting, forming wonderful ripples, snow shelfs, and mounds. It has been a few years since I've seen winter act this way, not content with an even blanket of snow, feeling more creative.
So before I get outside today and survey some of the inevitable bamboo damage, I thought I'd remind myself about the positive aspects of winter, mainly the beauty.
I don't know how much of this snow will be left by next week, as we'll be warming up near 50ºF (10ºC) as the week ends. Hey Winter, you couldn't average those temperatures out a little bit for us?
.
Pretty, yes, but that's steep price to pay. What was the low at your house?
ReplyDeleteIt can be beautiful, if you're looking at it the right way. Thankfully it's generally short-lived.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I learned this week - -40C is the same as -40F. Who knew?t
Gerhard, it looks like we reached about -8ºF, with -25ºF or -30ºF windchill.
ReplyDeleteLisa: I knew the -40 equality fact, but hope to never experience it.
