Savannah trees
I was in Savannah last week, and Friday morning I finally had time to get out and see the sights a little. What I saw was trees.
Huge, magnificent trees, and they were everywhere!
Gigantic, moss-draped arms curved overhead...
This was in the downtown area, near the Hilton Desoto if you're familiar with the area (or like to "travel" via Google maps or similar):
It was the most relaxed downtown area I've ever been in.
The wonderful thing about downtown Savannah is that there are "Squares" every few blocks -- small parks, oases of green:
The Spanish moss overhead was sometimes epic:
When you don't live somewhere where moss of any type easily grows, this sort of thing easily fascinates and captivates.
So I had really enjoyable couple of hours in the sunshine and warmer weather before heading back into the Arctic cold back home. It was a nice reminder that spring can't be too far away now...
.
Wonderful! I love Spanish moss (it doesn't grow here), It always reminds me of Louisiana and the bayous. I'm glad you liked Savannah. One of these days I'll make it there...
A bit overwhelmed by scenes like these. Have never seen hanging moss except in films.
A hasty note to remind you there will be a link box for Tree Following posts on Loose and Leafy tomorrow (March 7th). It'll stay open for seven days.

I'd love to see Savannah. I remember Spanish moss from a childhood in Florida, also remember little red bugs that flourished on them! Great photos!
