What?

You know what activity allows you to get a really good glimpse at many of the corners of your garden, looking underneath leaves, searching for tiny insects to eat? (Not to eat myself of course, because if I were hungry for insects I'd be looking for the big ones.) Sprinkling baby mantises everywhere, that's what.

I saw all sorts of things, but some of them were strange. Like this... moth?

I say "this moth" but really there were many of them. There was another within a hand's width of this one, and I saw two or three on the dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum) by the veggie garden.

It has to be a moth of some kind, but does anybody know what exactly it is? They were all just hanging there -- waiting for wings to dry after just hatching perhaps?

Maybe this isn't even their final shape, but it temporary while their wings pump with fluid.
