For the next week or so, posts may be a little on the short side. Work is hectic and some travel is involved, so blogging time will be limited. Plus I need to slow down a bit, relax.
Like a Tillandsia soaking in a tub, I will enjoy the end of summer, letting stresses float away.
This actually is the way that I give my three air plants their weekly soaking: in my walkway water feature!
They seem to enjoy it, spending an hour or two out there, goldfish tickling their anchor roots. (Sometimes they spend the night out there when I forget to bring them in!)
The bigger of these three I purchased late last winter. The other two smaller ones were gifts received at this summer's Garden Bloggers Fling. I believe they were provided by Little Prince of Oregon if I remember correctly.
I learned an interesting fact that night at the Fling banquet: even experienced, talented gardeners have plants that they just can't keep alive.
I wonder if your Fling Tillandsia are still living? You know who you are. :)

Ours are still doing well and very much alive. Enjoy your time off :)

ReplyDeleteMine are happy campers! Hope you enjoy the business at work!
ReplyDeleteRelax on! (yes mine is still alive, but to tell you the truth I've forgotten which one it is)
ReplyDeleteRelaxing is good! I think your little Tillandsia looks so happy taking there weekly soak. I came home with 3 little Tillandsia friends. They are all happy as can be in my kitchen window. I already had several and they like the morning light there. When I am running the a/c 24/7 I mist them at least every other day with rainwater. I have never tried soaking them. I found a set of little pots that I filled with orchid mix and just set them on top. The other I have are hanging in glass containers. I have meant to do blog about it but...
