Winter Pretty

There's no denying it now: winter is here. That doesn't mean that the garden doesn't hide some beauty though. You don't need blooms to make a garden sing to you during the cold months.

You don't need pristine blankets of snow to make it all wonderful either. You just need to look a little bit harder for the pretty.

At least I do.

I don't have too many of these photos to share yet, but it's a start. These were taken over the last few days, where it went from snowy to 70ºF (21ºC) back down below freezing with a light sleet/ice storm. If you don't like variety in your weather I think you're running out of places to live.

Pepper your garden with things that will look good after the growing season ends, and don't bother with fall cleanup! Who wants to look at a barren garden for five months?

  1. Pristine garden in the winter is overrated ;) pretty shots, and nice to see the fish too!

  2. "Don't bother with fall cleanup." Music to my ears. I never do and find that things are much easier to tidy up in the spring after they've been frozen and dried! There is beauty in the winter garden but you're right, you have to look a little closer!
