I've got several interesting posts planned for this week, but since I've got a bit of a cold and a headache, I'm taking the easy approach today: a look back at summer 2010.
That was the year I started this blog, and this post shows what the garden was like in July of that year. One of the best things about documenting the garden's progress is looking back every once in a while, and I find it especially enjoyable on cold winter days to see some summer greenery.
I'm not going to repeat all of that original post's photos, but it's worth taking a look if you're curious about how things have changed in four years.
The bamboo has certainly grown since then, and the veggie beds were so lush!
There are some things that really worked well back then that I wonder why I didn't keep doing them -- like the pot of huge Colocasia. Weird to know that there's no pond in those photos too.

I have my central Illinois post halfway finished, so that looks like it's coming tomorrow...

Prayers your cold is short lived and you feel better soon. Especially in winter, I try to remember to take calcium, magnesium and zinc to boost my health against colds. A nice bowl of chili is as good as chicken soup, I say.
ReplyDeleteBlast from the past Alan and nice to see how it was before and how it has evolved since then. Hope you recover and feel better soon!
