I spent quite some time out in the garden yesterday morning, eager for visual excitement, searching for sights to share. So much time that I couldn't bring my camera indoors immediately (it's right into a ziplock bag to prevent condensation forming inside the camera and lenses while it acclimates to the warm air)...
...so I wasn't able to post any of these yesterday. But that just makes for an extra-long series of images today! Lots of interesting stuff out there if you're willing to look.
I'm so grateful that I grow so many bamboos for the winter green, as there would be so much brown otherwise -- not that there's anything wrong with brown!
Enjoy, and please let me know your favorite shots in the comments.

Miscanthus seeds: I do find a few seedlings under the plant each year.

So glad I have bamboo in the garden. So far except for one night around 0ºF it's been a fairly mild winter, so most bamboos look good. |

I don't understand gardeners that clean up everything in autumn. What do they look at in the barren garden all winter long? So much to see...
The last few posts have been photo-centric -- I hope you don't mind!

We don't mind at all Alan, they're all beautiful photos that it's difficult to single out any of them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, Alan. Thanks for braving the cold morning with your camera in a baggie.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose a favorite, it would be the 1st Rudbeckia seed head. Just right, simple, no blown-out bits. Winter light must have been bright that morning. Better than gloomy, though.
The fish under the ice - my favorite! Our fish stay so low in the pond we never see them under the ice. It was all thaw here this week though, so we got to check them all out. A nice break from the cold!
