A welcoming committee!
Since when does one member make a committee? It was more than that...
Was it five or six deer? Hard to tell from the house once things start leafing back up, as you only get glimpses as they pass through.
I have mixed feelings whenever I see the deer: excited to see wildlife (even if it's partially tame), but worried that they're going to browse something that they're not supposed to... like bamboo shoots.
But there were some nicer views this morning too though...

...just a few, as I'll do a more thorough garden survey later today.
It's good to be back in the garden!
.
Some very nice sights to welcome you back! Happy gardening!
ReplyDeletePeter: the gardeners who don't have deer visiting have much more positive attitudes about them -- no mixed feelings. :)
ReplyDeleteLovley photos.
ReplyDeleteI see deer and think of ticks. Its tough with the likes and dislikes of such beautiful creatures.
Welcome back! And at first glance I thought the grackle wasn't real!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say that you must have mixed feelings about the deer. We don't have any where I live, so whenever I see deer, I'm excited. But then I see what they do in my mother-in-law's garden, and I'm glad we're deer free!
ReplyDeleteMaywyn: I try not to think about ticks ever. Luckily the mosquitos provide enough distraction... ;)
ReplyDeleteMark/Gaz: They're a pretty bird, but so annoying. Especially when they start carrying the chick droppings to the pond. Noisy too.
Gerhard: At least we don't have elk or moose. ;)
We have so many deer living all around our neighborhood. We always know when someone isn't "from around here" - they're the ones pulled to the side of the road taking pictures.
