Two Turtles
As my lawn is quite long right now, in the morning I can see turtle trails in the grass/weeds/whatever. I don't see the turtles themselves very often...
...but the other day one literally crossed my path.
Okay, not really "crossed", but she was sitting right at the edge of my mulched path up to the driveway. She was probably about to cross when she saw me and froze.
Looking good! (Also looks like she's been having a snack...)
She got a little nervous when I moved in too close:
Then today this fellow was blocking another path by the patio:
I've certainly not seen him before...
...as his colors and markings are quite bold.
Very cool!
Look how smooth his shell is compared to the previous turtle. I wonder what that means? (If anything)
I really love finding turtles in the garden!
This is why mowing the lawn for me is such a nerve-wracking task. Always keeping an eye out for a half-hidden turtle is stressful!
.
Very cool indeed!
Nice pictures!
Yes, mowing is tricky when there's known creatures around. A walk through usual makes them scurry or slither away. But turtles...I hope they are large enough to see.
I can't imagine having turtles roaming around my garden. Just blows my mind...
What a beauty! I would think that the wear on his shell indicated that he was older. I know old tortoises have shells worn smooth by crawling under, around and through.
Gorgeous photos of beautiful turtles. I love turtles. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

That is so cool, I find turtles to be so fascinating. Your photos are really amazing.
Thanks all! Now I just need to see some baby turtles around and I'll be happy...
