Alocasia seed pod or goofy halloween face?

I'm quite happy with the Alocasias this year:

There are two main plants there, although both have multiple pups now. So full, so perfect in this corner! I made a discovery the other morning, perfect for the season...

Get a little closer...

...and look behind that big leaf that's right about at eye level (just left of center frame).

A seed pod with (maybe) viable seeds?

Or is it a goofy-faced Halloween decoration instead?

To me it's definitely a face, although I'm also excited to harvest those seeds and see what they do next year!

(Not sure if the pod split open this way on its own or if it was helped by a creature.)

I love alocasias, in large part because they don't seem to require as much water as the more common elephant ears, Colocasia esulenta. At least they don't end up with crispy edges the minute they dry out a bit!

Wow, your alocasias are stunning. I love them.

I think a creature open up that seed pod. Very ornamental seeds.

I vote for goofy-faced Halloween decoration. So you're going to pluck it's eyes out? How ghoulish!
