I started out this morning intending to just take a few photos of the Persicaria bloomss that were just being hit by the right type of morning light...
...but I ended up snapping photos for about 30 minutes. There was so much to discover on this crisp autumn morning!
Do I need to say anything about any of these? I'll start with the Persicaria and go from there...
I wondered if planting my 'Golden Arrow' so close to my 'Painters Palette' seedlings was the right move, but I love how the blooms interact!
Those red/pinks led my eye to the castor bean planted so late in the season, and just about eye level (as opposed to 10' tall):
The flowers are like a miniature Christmas tree complete with bows! (except the tree is the wrong color)
From there I just let the sun backlight everything...
...and now I'll just freeform and mix it all up. Enjoy!
I restrained myself -- only five bamboo shots and four of papyrus.
Hope you're enjoying autumn mornings in the garden as much as I am!

Beautiful! I'm enjoying your crisp fall morning vicariously. Here in Davis, CA the thermostat is permanently stuck on summer. I'm so over it!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous autumn light and photos, Alan. Autumn mornings are such a mellow golden time.
ReplyDeleteHi Alexander! Thank you!
ReplyDeletePeter: Thanks! It would be more mellow if I didn't have a list of chores to complete before the first frost... :)
