Below the deck that is. More specifically, the view looking out of the basement doors that are beneath the deck.
These doors face east so they give me the best morning view of the garden from inside. There's nothing better than backlighting to make certain plants pop, like these bleeding hearts. Love how the squirrel photobombed too, just jumped into the frame, froze for a second, then bounded off again.
Just a quick look today, as so much going on. Looking to the left a bit you can now see the patio since I've pruned that hydrangea back hard:
I love seeing the Japanese maples combined with the bamboo foliage. This view makes me feel like I've done something right along the way.
The peonies (two of them at least) combine nicely with the Kumasaca bamboo...
...while the bleeding hearts add a bit more energy to the vignette. (I really need to get that unused irrigation line down -- it's ruining the view!)
I love when the garden confirms what the calendar says about the season! Enjoy your spring weekend!

I'm liking your view ! Your style or just maybe property is different than mine...nah both. Enjoyed visiting.
ReplyDeleteSquirrel in the photo is adorable! Your yard looks serene, and a nice place to have morning coffee while reading the news.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views! It's nice when garden plans come to fruition so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLove the bleeding heart. And am curious as to what you are growing up the pillar. I see the wire support in the first photo.Unfortunately our spring weekend is torrential rain.
