The south side of the yard is not wide, but it gives some long views. I'd like to share a few right now, starting with the back half:
Which is essentially me standing at the back corner of the house and looking to the back. All foliage right now -- hardly a bloom in sight, which is a big change for this area from just a few years back.
Turning a little bit to the right (south):
The Musa basjoo bananas are big already. They grow so quickly!
Now turning around and looking toward the front (street):
The view this way is a bit of a mess, but if you focus on the wall things come together a bit more:
There are so many feverfew over here:
I'll thin them once they stop blooming. I really like them though!
Standing in the front yard looking back:
You can't really see all the way to the back anymore... well, just a sliver.
Lots going on here, much to get excited about! (Especially if you enjoy pulling volunteer seedlings...)
A sneak peek at the back yard between the house and patio:
I probably won't show you that for another week or two as it needs a bit more time to fill in...
Have a great weekend!
.
You certainly have beautiful views there Alan, relaxing to look at!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Looks like a garden paradise.
ReplyDeleteI think you included photos after the second one, with the bananas? I don't know, hard to tell, my eyes kind of got stuck right there.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how fast the landscape comes back to life! One of the things I love most about the Midwest.
ReplyDeleteLoree: I should do a banana update post. It's amazing how they've grown already.
ReplyDeleteLove the textures and lushness of it all! You combine the jungle (bananas, bamboo) with the prairie (grasses, meadow flowers) with a skilled hand.
