A view of the back garden
Since you saw a little of the garden that surrounds the patio in yesterday's post about the bananas, I thought I'd show you a little bit more today.
This is mainly for comparison later in the summer (and for winter soul recharging).
Getting a little closer:
If you know where to look, you can get a glimpse of the patio and stairway:
This is such a great combination right now:
Too bad the glowing 'Silberpfeil' Miscanthus will get a chop soon when it starts flopping.
Here's the panoramic view (click for larger version):
Those maypop on the trellis will soon be taking over and growing into the japanese maple. That vine is coming up everywhere this year -- it spreads from its roots.
Hope you like this view as much as I do!
.
Ah, so lush. It's wonderful, Alan. Hope that miscanthus doesn't need the chop.
Lovely! BTW there are big, fat, buds on the maypop you sent me last year. Flowers are just around the corner!
So beautifully green, full, and happy. This is a great view and helps me with the mental mapping of your garden.
So lush! You obviously don't have grass. Whats the green mat you have carpeting the slope?
Denise: It does every year. Gets too big to support itself and flops. A chop early July is the solution.
Loree: Interesting! No buds here yet, but a bazillion vines. It spreads from the roots so you'll see it pop up in more places each year. Easy to pull though.
Peter: maybe you'll see it in person some day? Or I could create a video tour, which seems more probable.
Chavliness: There's some turf grass in there, but it's a mix of clover, violets, grassy weeds and more. I "mow what grows". :)
