Friday Miscellany

Again, the end of the week brings a scattering of topics and photos. Let's start with the clematis that I can't remember the name of:

Finally flowering a bit this year, loving the different look and feel of this one!  (It's Clematis tibetana var. vernayi 'Orange Peel' -- I looked it up. So glad I post regularly...)

***

Another noteworthy bloom...

...this Allium is so great! I bought a few of the bigger varieties in the fall and can't remember which this is. It's not really huge yet, but I see the potential. It's a really nice, dense bloom regardless of the size.

In that same bed (allium bloom clearly visible) you can see that the Agastache has taken over:

It's now a hedge of A. foeniculum and A. rugosa and hybrids between the two. Way too much. Although it will be something when it starts blooming...

And finally (short post today) I go from way too much to not enough:

That planter box contained a lavender that died last year. Now I'm down to one lavender, but that's a story for another time. Right now there's an empty space that needs to be filled!

And the golden lotus banana from Gerhard will do nicely!

It was in a pot last year but gets more space now. I'm eager to see what happens...

Have a great weekend! Another busy one for me...

  1. That clematis reminds me so much of Tinkerbell for some reason. Have a fab weekend!

  2. Aaah, the empty planter box needing a new customer. Well, that's an excuse to go shopping! I had that Clematis too but unfortunately it did not survive the move :(

  3. The banana fits in the empty box very well. Looking forward to seeing what it does in your nice hot St. Louis summer!

  4. Mark/Gaz: the blooms are really quite unique, as far as most people's ideas of Clematis!

Tamara: I'm really trying to avoid buying any plants this year, and I'm doing pretty well so far. :)

Peter: It's the hottest spot in my yard, so I'm eager to see what it does there! Luckily it's right next to the water spigot too. :)
