pruning
For weeks the front walkway has been a problem. Rains and vigorous growth had made this more of an obstacle course than a place to walk. The last straw was seeing the FedEx guy stop and walk across the lawn instead of using the pathway -- that's what I had been doing the last few days too!
So with temperatures reasonable (85ºF/29ºC) today, I finally did something about it.
There is actually a walkway there. How about another look?
Maybe another angle will help...
Okay, you can see a bit of stone in that view. Hope you like brushing against bee-laden blooms!
A bit of chopping and pulling and some creative bamboo culm work...
...and there's a walkway!
You can see the bamboo in this photo, holding back the plants on the left (north) side of the walkway:
It's just a couple of canes bound together with a zip tie:
So pretty in front of that artemesia, isn't it?
It's going to be a nice walk to the truck in the morning -- no jumping or contorting or detours!
.
Nice work
A sumptuous path. I like the bamboo support. The canes seem drilled. Are they also treated to be more durable against the elements?
Maywyn: Thanks!
Chavliness: They are drilled -- I did not want the horizontal cane to slide down. They are not treated -- I only need them to last for the rest of this year.
It looks more inviting all cleaned up and spiffy but jumping around and cortorting through a jungle can be fun too!
