So it seems that spring is actually here now. Not that I have much time to notice, but I'm getting out there to do some of the spring chores so I'm seeing clear signs.
Just quick look at what's going on around me. Not my tree above, but can't help but enjoy and appreciate parking lot plantings that look like this!
This one too, in another parking lot:
Now photos from my own garden.
I have some blooms in a tree too! I have not yet identified this tree I don't think...
...a volunteer growing in the wild strip at the back of my yard. I forget about it every year until it blooms.
Mostly there's foliage stuff going on here, as the Petasites starts to pick up speed and I can see how far it's spread:
The ferns are all emerging:
As are all of the Japanese maples:
I've got to get these into the ground this year, but I'm just not sure where to place them. I'll have to make some decisions...
The peonies are quite far advanced:
The early-shooting bamboos are doing their thing:
The toads have been doing their thing too, so thankful for my recent pond efforts:
I've been hearing spring peepers out there too, a first for my pond! Perhaps because there are no fish in there yet?
Spring is the best time for moss here in the St. Louis area:
Spring in my garden means bamboo chopping, and lots of it:
The deer have created some artwork by damaging the bark on the pine:
(That might be my favorite photo of the year so far!)
Spring means bringing the indoor overwintered plants outside. Yay for regaining garage/workshop space!
Mostly spring means rejuvenation!
Spring - hooray!
.
Lovely photos
ReplyDeleteThere's more snow in the Vermont forecast.
Spring is an exciting time! I haven't started moving things outside yet as temperatures are below average for this time of year. Still, spring is advancing!
ReplyDeleteYeah for spring! Before you know it, it'll be summer. You've had summer temperatures already!
