Late emergence

It's almost summer (feels like it already at least in St. Louis) and most plants have already pushed out most of their new growth. Sure a few bamboos are still shooting, but pretty much everything else have finished their spring growth spurts.

Except for the tropicals that is, the plants that overwintered in my garage or basement or living area. Those are just getting started!

The plumeria is looking great, with no sign of the blackening that occurred last year:

I've put it in a new spot this year: along the south wall:

It will get a lot more sun and heat over here, which I think it wants. I'm hoping the stems will all thicken up a bit, as it looks a little bit fragile (and is getting tall).


Speaking of tall...

...the Pachypodium is outdoors now, and the leaves are appearing:

Will I get flowers again this year, or did I wait too long to bring it outside?


The Colocasias and Alocasias just seem to take so long to get going after planting, but then there is nothing stopping them!

The cactus are growing too...

...as I emphasized getting photos of those that are not in the nightmare bed. I'm tired of seeing that mulching of leaves.


There are other things I could have shown, like the canna that magically (woodchuck?) unplanted itself. It almost looked like I dug the hole and forgot to put the rhizome in -- it was that thoroughly dug up!
