I've been working on some new garden sculpture designs, sticking to my current focus of mixing wooden cubes with metal rods.
This is a variation on the earlier work, and I call this one "Quad Cubes Z".
It's a bit more substantial than the previous designs because of the extra wood...
...but I like the solidity of it! (The solid parts don't really make a "Z"...)
Plus it has more surface area so it can more readily be used as a side table.
I didn't spend a lot of time hunting for the perfect location for photos since it was 100ºF (38ºC) or so this afternoon...
...but it looks nice paired with another new design:
This is the "Cascade Quad Tower". I just stuck it here under the maple tree in the front yard for a minute, and it added so much to this difficult spot that I just left it.
The towers are difficult to photograph because they're tall and narrow, but this one has a "cascade" of block sizes, biggest on bottom, smallest on top.
See anything you like?
These new designs are not in my Etsy shop yet, but you can email me if you're interested in either.
.
Lovely. I can see your designs as a sofa and coffee table.
ReplyDeleteI like those two new pieces, it's a nice pairing. Looking at it just now gave me an idea: your Pachypodium lamerei is so top heavy it could use a cube similar to this to support it's base and encase the pot. It could be a beautiful thing.
ReplyDeleteI love those small pieces of handicrafts. Some people do such craft work in their pastimes.
ReplyDeleteThose are cool. I like the coffee table idea.
