There will be much work too: the yearly mowing (usually by hand shears) of the groundcover bamboos, and the removal of dead culms from the arboreal types.

Maybe these will all leaf back out, but I don't know yet as this spring has been so cold the leaf buds have not started to swell yet.
Here's hoping that things aren't as bad as they look!

ReplyDeleteI am zone 8b. Our bamboo always browns up in late winter & starts greening up early spring. But this year we had 2 small snows (very unusual) & it is not greening up like it has in previous years.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Time to move to the PNW where the bamboo is always green. I hope yours prove to be very resilient and green up quickly!
