She is either quite bold, or has very poor eyesight -- worse than other deer. Or perhaps she's just soooo hungry? I've been able to get within 10' (3m) of her, although these photos were taken from indoors.
She's looking at me through the office window, wondering why the bird feeder is empty.
She doesn't mind browsing a bit while waiting for me, and you can see she's maybe not as plump as she might be?
This is a look that says...
..."hurry up! I've got fawns to feed!"
I'm not certain that this is the mother of the twin fawns, but maybe. She's obviously still nursing at least one youngster (when you see her from the right angle). I don't fill the feeder until she leaves.
.
This summer I've seen a lot of deer out in the heat of the day.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should install a deer feeder. Oh wait, that's your whole garden:) She's sure pretty.
ReplyDeleteI bet deer rely on their hearing first, eye sight second.
