The humidity has been relatively low too, with a nice breeze. In other words, pretty awesome weather! This means windows open, no watering for several days, all the plants perking up -- and even a little bit of garden work. (Nothing on the stream project though -- too wet!)

Sure, the rain means my grasses might not be totally upright...
...but seeing everything getting all of the water it needs without my help...
...is just fantastic! It's like a little holiday, as if we've gone to the mountains or somewhere similar.
The moisture means that I might not get to enjoy all of the blooms before they get ruined:
(and yes, that's my Pachypodium lamerei with TWO blooms up there this year)
The things that want to be in water...
...actually are! (Cyperus papyrus)
Everybody who has foliage...
...is just so happy and growing and looking great!
I apologize if you've been having an unusually hot and dry summer -- I don't mean to gloat.
These last few days has been just so unlike a St. Louis summer!
We'll be back to about normal by Thursday, and then a little warmer than usual after that -- so I'm going to enjoy it while it's here!
.
Your plants are loving it, and it sounds like you are too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice vacation from running around with the hose! Still dry here but the "heat wave" is officially over. Highs are back in the sixties and seventies.
ReplyDeletedon't worry about gloating! It's great to know such conditions are happening somewhere...enjoy!
